Recently, we were visited by Child Care services of New York City. They brought to our attention that according to the laws of the State of New York that our current after school program of Soccer and homework classifies us as a day care program. We were informed that if we classify as a day care program, then we needed to get a license to operate as a day care program. Accordingly, we violated Title 18 of New York State code of Rules and regulations 413.2(a) (2)( ii) and Social service Law 390. The SACC program is any program or facility , which is not a residence , that provides child day care to an enrolled group of seven or more school-age children under 13 years of age, which operates outside of normal school hours and consistent with the school calendar.
Child day care does not include programs that are operating solely for the purpose of providing religious education, sports, classes , lessons or recreation is not a SACC program and is not required to obtain SACC registration from OCFS. Therefore our after school program that functions from 3:00- 4:30 will be exclusively soccer and will not include homework.
This change has been done to comply with the laws of the state of New York. We appreciated your understanding of the matter and look forward to continuing to provide excellent service to you and your family.
Thank you ,
